I have the crescendo and have used the walking foot (muvit) for straight line quilting and attaching bindings. For piecing I just use the 1/4" foot. Both work perfectly!

Love love love my babylock but it is a high end model. And I agree you are probably better off keeping the Viking if it is the older, made in Sweden type....always good to have a backup!
