I prefer Fisker, I do not like the wider yellow lines. Their 24 ruler is made the same way, you can measure down to 1/16 with no problem.

I'd go yardage if I want that many all the same color. I go precuts when I want a verity of colors and or prints that coordinate. New cutting matt sounds good, it may help with more accurate cutting.

I have 2-4X7 sheets of rigid insulation, from home depot covered in cheep batting. Works great and easy to move I cut off a foot because I can't reach that high, and it is easier to move around
