I would cut those fabrics into 2 1/2" x 18 or 22" strips and sew a light strip to a dark strip. Then cut your strip sets at 2 1/2". Those 2-patches are easier to work with and you'll never notice...

Jan - I visited MSQC and toured their LA operation. They use Gammills with computerized designs. I don't think you could find a more dedicated bunch of people. I won't hesitate to use them.
