I've reached a point where there are so many projects I want to do that I can't decide what to do!! So I don't do anything. I just collect more ideas!! I don't have time to even finish the two I have started. I'm very depressed!!

I've never lost my interest in quilting, but sometimes it can get overwhelming deciding what to do next because I love so many different styles of quilting. I am better off not collecting lots of fabric because I find that I don't use it all and can get tired of it. I am seeing more and more all of the projects that can be made with great satisfaction using the tools and basic fabrics I have. I like to believe that I can be happy with less since it seems that prices and economy keep pointing that direction! I'm even getting more intrigued with the older magazines and patterns.Every thing new seems so much alike to me, probably just me growing older!

Just read your post and it describes my thoughts pretty well, although I'm not depressed about it, just overwhelmed sometimes. So then, I set about to make a miniature and feel great again! They are a challenge to be quickly completed-try it!

I have recently started wanting to downsize everything. The older I get, the more I think about decluttering. My kids won't want all my stuff and looking at all this "stuff" just makes me tired. I haven't started de-stashing, tho. I'm not that into de-cluutering yet...lol

I would take her to her physcian as she may be having some kind of depression.

I can't talk with authority of any kind about quilting. But I am a musician and have been playing for almost 20 years and there are times I've gone years without playing. I am just coming out of a lull now. I'd like to say it was because of the kids. But it wasn't - I was just over it. I think when you are heavily involved in something sometimes you just need a break to get the spark back...

Not giving up, just took a break from it a few months back. Sooner or later most of us will just have to rest from our quilting to be refreshed again!

I didn't sew for several years then started quilting and got back into it. But I sometimes go a month or two without touching my machines. Sometimes you're just not in the mood.

I am not as ambitious as I used to be, getting older I guess and of course menopause is setting in pretty good now. I sew on my new york beauty quilt everyday, but only get around 4 blocks done and I take frequent breaks. I used to sew a king or queen size top a week, not so anymore.

I've had spells when nothing creative works, I usually just put things aside and get a good book and read, Will eventually get the spark going and then things are back to normal and the house if full of strings and tiny fabric scraps. grin. DH always says he knows things are good when he finds strings on the carpet.
