So glad to hear how you tackle your health issues. I am 54 and dealing with rheumatoid arthritis. My love is hand applique and I find the days I don't do needle work, my hands are hard to deal with. Quilting is so good for the soul.

my handiest tool is my cheater needle it is great for hiding stitches and thread when i free motion quilt at the beginning and end, also i pretty bowl sitting next to my machine, it holds all the candy and gum i need to munch on while quilting !!!!
