Best wishes for a good Easter to all!

Anne, I wonder if that will happen to me one day. Still at the stage of coping with the daily pain. I hope to walk more this summer. I bought myself a little dog last summer in the hopes of walking more, but the plan failed...

The strangest thing happened this evening..I was in the rocker in a semi-reclined position watching TV and I tried to re-adjust my position and when I moved my leg I felt & heard a snap in my knee..it was very painful and now my knee is just sore and I can walk without the cane & no pain...I'm going to be very conscious of my walking and movements until I get home to see the DR..You have no idea how relieved I am..

Givio, have you ever used a TENS unit? I usually travel with it in case I need it but It needs new wires..Check it out on Ebay..Years ago you needed a script for it...not any more..it really helps with the pain..I used it a lot after the first knee replacement...helps with swelling too...I feel so much better knowing I'll be able to pack up for the trip home this Wednesday.. Good nite all..H.

I can't take any antibiotic like Cipro, and levaquin. Three times when on them it wasn't long until I had a ligament tear. It also is hard, because it knocks out a lot of antibiotics. I have a cane put back too for those days I need it.

Junebillie, Last October I has taken Levaquin and ended up not being able to walk because of it..I stopped taking it after 3 days and had to have PT for a Month..it did something to my leg in the calf area...Never again..The TENS is a gadget that sends pulsating electric thru the pads placed on the area you place them..very gentle and it really helps..

I never heard of a TENS unit. I think I need to help my muscles to be stronger...

Hey Ya'll. I wanted to jump in here & say that I looove my tens unit! I use it on my back when it acts up. DH hates it. He has been bad enough a few times that he was willing to use it, but he claims that it just hurts. I think he decided that it would hurt. LOL

We are gonna go back to Midland tomorrow. I mostly did yard work this trip. We did get some faux wood blinds to put in the dinning room behind my lace curtains. Gosh it looks lovely & cuts down on that hot west sunlight!

Honchey I hate to hear that. The last time I took Levaquin, I was walking through my living room, and suddenly went down on the floor with what felt like literally someone had taken a hammer and hit me as hard as they could in the calf of one of my legs. I couldn't walk for a while after that. So now it is on all my medical records to not be given that drug.

We have a unit like the tens, but I don't know if that is what it is. We place these little pads on where it hurts, and it sends little vibrating pulses, and we can make them stronger or lighter. I haven't used it in awhile. I have just been on lots of meds.

Junebillie, It is a TENS unit..it helps so much..when I used to vaccum the carpets I would place them just below & above my waist and I didn't hurt later in the day like I would if I didn't use it..I used it on my ankle after surgery and around my knee after surgery..it helps in reducing the swelling also. I like the rectangle pads better than the little square ones..more coverage.

Hiya everyone. and happy anniversary to both Givio and NS. Honchy, I am so sorry to hear about your pain. Three years or so ago when I was starting to feel pain in my knees, I had started to take stuff like condriton and all those other things to help with arthritis. Last year, I started to use a product by Bronson Pharmaceuticals, called Vital (collagen). It is a liquid and you take 3 drops in water before eating in the morning. It runs abou 30.00 for a month supply. After 3 bottles, all my pain has vanished, it is amazing. I guess it depends on what stage you are at. I don't take pain killers at all, I would rather suffer lol. Anyway, I do take some lovely vitamins from the same company and now take collagen in capsule form. I am going to see if it's affective as the liquid. I also take Hyaluronic Acid, which is also good for the joints. ....
