Here's my second block - almost completed.

I also decided, for my own sanity, I had to write a list of my various color combinations. As I mentioned earlier, I'm using the cool colors - blue, green & purple for my chains and warm colors - yellow, red, orange & pink for my circles. Now, you are certainly welcome to say, '... sure, Capt. Obvious', as my daughter would say, but it's helping me & thought it might help others who are doing a scrappy version of our project.

I've found that I spend more time trying to keep a "controlled" scrappy quilt looking good than just about any other type. Usually after doing one or two I need something that I don't have to worry about what goes where - usually something not scrappy!

I hope to get to working on the next part this weekend. I'm finishing up a few Christmas quilts and then I'm planning on only working on what I've got in progress until they are done. Mostly this one and the BH mystery, and I have a totally scrappy one in progress to work on in between clues if I need more sewing time.

I know what you mean Macybaby...I spend too much time finding the right fabrics even in a scrappy...I have allowed myself to just put fabric together...once in a while!

I keep telling myself, the circles are light reds and the chain are dark...now repeat again and again...

Tickled pink tonight...I now have the 9P blocks for 10 of the blocks completed. (I know that was week 2!) Halfway done with Week 2. I was tempted to sew a complete block, but decided I'd wait until I got the next 2 week steps done. I really don't want to mess up my fragile organization of light and dark reds.

I'm really liking the idea of sewing a scrappy one at some point in time. Having enough light fabrics for the background might be a problem though. Those of you who are making it scrappy, do you find this to be true?

Sorry have been MIA from this group have been working on a little bit. I am in the process of piecing all the blocks together. My blue does not stand out as much as I would have liked but trying to use up my scraps so that is fine. even though I wrote my colors down I got messed up when I first started My chain was supposed to be blue and my center was to be neutral. Here is a picture of my progress so far working on in between a couple of mystery quilts I am currently doing.

Oh but you have enough contrast in your blocks that it looks great. Once you get the sashing 9P's in you will see a big difference in how it looks, too. Thanks for sharing your progress!

I am tempted ot try a QAYG on this block. Do you think its possible to do on this pattern?

Sure, go for it QuiltingNinaSue, I considered doing that myself. Since it ends up with a sashing and cornerstones layout, it would be pretty easy to quilt the blocks then add sashing and batting in the sashing and join them together.
