"cheap" vs "inexpensive"
#12
Cheap to me means having to make do or not knowing the difference between value and cost. Inexpensive to me means in relation to the value you are getting from the product.
I buy cheap when the product doesn't matter to me whatsoever, like toilet paper. I refuse to spend high dollar for something that is flushed down the sewer. Northern 1000 sheet rolls is what you get at my house or bring your own. When it comes to food I won't buy cheap if it is not the best quality.

Every time I hear the word "cheap" - it's like the sound of fingernails on a blackboard to me.
The connotation to me has always been very negative.
"Inexpensive" - on the other hand, to me, is neutral.

I work retail (custom picture framing) and when people tell me they want something framed as cheaply as possible, I have trained my staff to grab the lowest priced framing and say,
"This is our most cost-effective option."
There is a huge difference between CHEAP, which would suggest inferior workmanship and materials, (which we don't use) and a low priced, not particularly exciting, but well built frame/mat/glass combination!
We need to immediately 'reframe' the idea they want 'cheap'.
