I got a bath mat when I was in the 5th grade; that was the one and only gift I got and I did not even have my own bathroom and the bathmat that was in the only bathroom in the house was just fine. I never understood that one---------

Lol I have a pretty metal engraved cigarette case that I use as a wallet! It's the perfect size for ID, credit cards, insurance cards, etc. Great for when you don't want to lug around a purse - we went to Disneyland and it was perfect. Our tickets fit, there was enough room for cash, and I could stick it in my pocket and not worry about losing it on rides. However, I wouldn't give one as a gift unless I knew the recipient would use it. I got one for my mom and she uses it for all those store "club cards" they give out.

I got a beautiful lipstick case from my (female) office manager one Christmas. The office was at a construction plant and I didn't wear makeup. Could that have been a hint? She has passed on now, but I still have the case and like to remember the time we worked together. Really, she was a very nice lady.

I haven't gotten any weird Christmas gifts (unless you count the duct tape coasters made by a darling preteen) but after our house burned I was amazed at the collection of half used lotions and potions I received as well as other odd items like a box of miscellaneous lids.

When our oldest son was in Cub Scouts, I not only was a den mother but also became a Den Leader Coach & taught crafts to other den mothers county wide. One yr. for Christmas my husb. got me a jig saw so I could teach wood crafts. The other den mothers thought that was the greatest thing ever. I loved that saw more than any piece of jewelry.

That makes me cry. It's sad that you only got a bathmat for Christmas.
