freecycle is a website designed to keep items which still have some life in them out of landfil.

you join a local group and you offer items you no longer need or you put a wanted ad in for something you have need of. Other group members ask for things they are interested in or contact you if they have something you have requested.

Here in Newcastle we have a fairly active group and I have given away quite a lot of items which I no longer needed and have been very lucky and managed to get a vintage armchair, a welsh dresser, bunk beds and the cupboard as well as a freezer and fridge for a friend.
