Since all my family and friends have been gifted with quilts, I now make mostly charity quilts. I, too, was looking to use up all my 2-1/2" squares. I sorted them into groups of 16 of the same color, made blocks of the 16 and used black sashing in between the blocks. With some of the colors, I made light and dark blocks, e.g., one block of light green squares and one block of dark green squares. By the time I was finished, I had become overly fond of the quilt and just couldn't donate it to charity. I must be honest. It is my all-time favorite of all the quilts I have made which number over 100. Wish I was computer savy enough to post a pic of the quilt, but, alas, it's not going to happen.

The cover of (BH&G) American Patchwork & Quilting magazine features a scrappy 2.5" quilt called "Charming Addition". It uses plus signs "to create a quilt that's positively scraptacular". You can find it at:

It's quite colorful -- I'll try to attach a pic. I plan to make it with a border.

I have become addicted to scrap quilts (thanks to Bonnie Hunter) and 2.5" charm squares (thanks to The Curious Quilter). I started a postage square quilt last year after swapping about 6000 squares. I like my PSQ but I'm not in love with it so I have started other types. The Charming Addition I have started but with my current charms I don't have 5 squares of the same material so I'm working on that. I have a triple irish cham with 2.5" and black that I just need to finish putting together and I'm getting ready to put together another one called I think it is film strip. I"ll get the picture of it once I find it and post it.

The quilt in the background of my stall is one I made from 2.5" squares.
