Search "warm wishes" on the forum and look at the pictures posted of other warm wishes quilts - maybe you'll feel better about yours when you see how they turn out when finished.

Here's my latest warm wishes quilt top, still have to quilt it for my MIL b'day. I don't care for them befroe they are finished, but have done several.
This first one in particular, I took my leftover aquares and chopped them up, wanting to use all the extra pieces I could. I used almost every scrap of extra fabric I had!
The second one I hated making it, thank goodness it went together quickly! But, in the end, I loved the results with just a simple zinger and a skinny border!
    Hope you finish it!

They look warm and cozy. Finish the quilt. When done, you will like it.

So when you fall out of love with your quilt...do you keep on truckin' and finish it anyway? [quote]

Many times, all of the parts get stacked together. If I don't get interested in it again, I give it away, if someone wants it. New quilters will usually take it for practice. We also have a free table at our guild meetings. Some end up there, as well. Some people will take anything.

Just because you don't care for it, I'm sure your MIL will since you made it for her. What a great gift for her. Be excited and proud when you give it to her. If you show disappointment, she may sense it and think it's just a cast off that you gave her instead of you actually making it for her. It'll be just fine. Lots of times the quilting finishes it off just right.

I agree with the others. I'd say keep at it.

If you still don't like the top when it's finished, then just quilt the dickens out of it with a beautiful thread, and watch it come to life! Quilting can really change the look of a quilt. Lots of quilting can change the look A LOT.
