It sure would be nice if the Wal-Mart closest to me would get their fabric dept. back, but the girl working there told me not to get my hopes up. She even said they were going to get rid of their precuts. Maybe if I pray to the "Fabric Angel" we'll get it back.

According to the manager of the dept in our Walmart, the amount of fabric they carry depends on the % of fabric sales in relation to their total sales. The more they sell the more they will carry. Our notions area seems to be smaller and have a feeling that the same rule applies. So maybe if we shop Walmart more the fabric and notions dept will get bigger and better.

We would special order them by the gross from the fabric dept. there and I was told we wouldn't be able to do that if it wasn't stocked. Now what to do??
Check to see if the buttons are available on the Walmart website. If so, order them, have sent to your local walmart (no shipping charges to you), they will call when product arrives and you can pick up there. My daughter has done this several times on items that were either out of stock, or no longer carried in her local store. Other than that, google buttons and I'm sure you'll get lots of responses.

My WalMart was moving the precuts to gardening to make room for the new fabric dept. at the back of the store. That was last Thursday. I need to go see how far they have come along. I purchased some fat quarters for $.75 Thursday. All other precuts had not been marked down, yet.

One of our Walmarts brought back the fabric but as precut and packaged. That does not work for me, I like to chose how much fabric I want to buy. We have a new Holly Lobby and that is where I am purchasing my fabric. Nice selection.

Our fabric department is expanding with another aisle for fabrics in Sept!
I find that some of the fabrics are really thin while others such as the quilt of the month and such that here run @ $2.97 per yard are a better quality than some that are @ $5.44 per yard! Makes no sense, but works for me.

I can't wait for the reset to begin! I am so ready - I'd be willing to work overtime to get it set up quicker if they'd let me! just did most of the last.

Gosh, I hope the Walmart here brings back the fabric. Joann's is further away. Sometimes my needs are simple and I don't need the larger display that Joann's has. Yay for Walmart--if they bring back the fabric.

Most of my quilts have been made with Walmart fabric. So far they've all held up. My first one was made with fabric from and actual fabric store and faded streaks in it from washing! You just have to watch what you buy.

It will be another week or so and our Wal-Mart will be up and running as before with the fabric department.

    Blessings,
