This is a beautiful quilt and I think like others when you get the markings out it will look totally different and be very beautiful.

I think that what was a nice quilt before you removed the "pen markings " is now a gorgeous quilt after you removed them. I think you'll be pleased when you are finished and the entire quilt is washed. Be sure to post pictures of the final product. And if you find that you are unhappy, there are many of us waiting in the wings to take it off your hands. LOL

You're all very kind. I really like this quilt, even with the over-quilting. I found a picture of it that I had before I quilted, so you can see the "before"

I agree too much but still pretty. I personally think once machine quilting became popular quilts have lost a lot! Myho

I agree with the rest, remove the markings & it'll be just fine. You'll like it again.

I just love your quilt! Did you make up the pattern yourself? I agree that it will be fine in the end, although you have a lot of the white surroundiing the middle. Maybe you could do something else with it. It will be fine in the end.

I agree, I think once the markings are gone you might just see it in a different light. Pretty quilt though.

I agree about the markings making the quilt look quilted to death. Very pretty quilt - love the dragonflies.

I think once the marking pen goes away, it will be much better . Also another lesson is that different types of quilting are busier than others. I think a curlicue like you used is very busy, where a gentle wave might have worked better. But the quilt is very lovely, and I think once it's finished, you'll be pleased.

No, I actually bought it on ebay. I haven't seen another like it.

I think I'm ready to try to tackle some feathers, and might try that on the white that's surrounding to try to soften it up.
