What was the shipping on item 2 alone? Lots of times, I've had to pass on deals because shipping was just too costly. Have you dealt with this seller before? Where you go to pay, there is a "Request invoice" box. Before you pay, use the comment box there to straighten out the shipping.

I just sent a whole quilt, return receipt requested, insured for $500 and it was less than $14!
The quilt was the commission quilt I posted about and was 72x72, mailed on Friday and received on Tuesday and that Included the Monday the Post Office was closed!

    So, sounds suspicious to me...

When you leave feedback there is a place to check if the shipping was outrageous. The seller doesn't see it. I would let the seller know you are reporting her for charging way too much for shipping. You can go to the forum and put her name out there as one to avoid. Those ebay forums are no holds barred on bad sellers.

    I just thought of something-
If you see ebay's invoice shipping is much higher as they don't calculate discounts. If you haven't paid already ask the seller for an invoice. That could be why it is so high.
If I ever get a buyer who pays before I have a chance to send an invoice I always refund the difference.

This really ticks me off! I don't care if you already paid or not, contact the seller stating it could of been shipped in a flat rate box for $10.95 (?), and ask for an adjustment. The price of postage will not be on the package if the seller prints a label thru Ebay. You'll see the weight, but not costs. Also let them know that you're contacting Ebay regarding the high shipping fees. If he doesn't adjust, make sure to list your complaint in your feedback and give a low rating on shipping.

If he's a top seller, he really won't care because he sells a lot of items and it probably won't affect him much.

    Bottom line...Ask for an adjustment!

The same thing happened to me with some stamps. I asked someone before I bid if she would combine shipping so I went ahead and bought all her stamps since the shipping would be affordable, thinking it would all fit in a flat rate box.

we completely misunderstood each other and she tried to charge me a fortune in shipping all the stamps (Stampin Up). They hardly weighed anything. I politely and assertively raised a little stink and she worked with me, but wasn't happy about it.

Try to work with the seller before you pay. That "ain't" right.

Just a suggestion here, but next time on ebay, go to the FREE SHIPPING listings.........I hate postage and avoid it at all cost!

Ebay really frowns on sellers who charge excessive shipping costs. I'm so sorry you had to pay so much. :-(

You can turn them in for gouging. I would email them and ask if they can ship it cheaper.
