If you find purple you like buy a lot because it will most likley go fast. Atleast in our area. Purple is one of the colors I tend to pay full price for as there is nothing left by the time it hits the sales category.

I chuckled about this for a reason.....could it be that purple is the color of passion and passion is thought to be a sin (by some) so we don't want to create impure thoughts.

The last lot that I remember noticing was the Hoffman Kimono and Emperor's Garden series - but if that is not to your taste it is mostly the homespun stuff I guess?

I work in my LQS and we specialize in a lot of Civil War Fabrics and there are several purple fabrics on our shelves. Maybe you need to talk to your LQS about ordering some in. I know we sell quite a bit of it for CW quilts.

You are so right about finding nice purple blenders but the good news is I just got some nice purple tonal blenders! The site is debsews2.com.

It might be hard to find cause it isn't trendy now. From my experience dyeing fabric for quilters.... a really good purple/violet is harddd to get. The pigment is super expensive and the lovely clear ones need to be a turquiose base, also super expensive, needing a high heat and 24hour cure time. As for printed purples, would like to see more of them, they make a ho hum blue or pink piece wonderful.

Another purple fan - my friends say I don't go past it ever on the shelves!

But, when I go to use purple, there is a very small supply in my vast stash - conclusion: all of the above comments and - limited availability and conspicuous color makes it seem as though I must have a lot.

When you see it and like it, buy it!
