Perfect. I grew up on a farm and this is about the style I used. Either way - fresh corn is the best!

except that I like to leave a stub of the "stem" as a handle to hold it while I'm eating. I don't like buttery hands. I'm sure it tastes better than corn that has been boiled with a lot of water which dilutes the taste.. I layer some husks on the bottom of the pot and use 1/2 inch water and steam the ears.

What fun! I hope I remember this when the grand kids come to stay next summer. Then will think I am crazy, weird and just the best grammie they could ever have when I shake the corn out of the husks! Thanks for the 8:00 am smile!

No not a stupid question because I was wondering the same thing myself. Is the corn cooked or does it still need to be cooked? Neat way to get rid of the silk though.

Hmmm....I'll have to give this a try, thanks for sharing. I don't usually cook my corn but for about 2 min. per ear, but I assume with the husks on...you need that extra time. We LOVE corn on the cob though and this is worth a try!

All these years I have been cleaning the husks off then boiling the ears. This is so simple.

I will have to pass on this too although it seems like an easy way.
I do not like to microwave anything - It changes the molecture structor of the food - so is not really good food after microwaving it. Sorry but that is how I feel.
Why eat something that by doing so has been changed into something that is not healthy?
