So, the previous owners bought 160 acres in 1915 in the Hayward hills, around 1920 the father of the owner built a cabin. His mother bought this used to have as her "country stitcher" while her husband was hunting and "stuff" It came out of the cabin 3 months ago in prep for sale.

His mom's name was Elma P. Davis. So, let me introduce you to Elma.

That's great that it's been local to you the whole time and that you have the history! Tastes and styles change. Thank goodness they only painted the cabinet instead of junking the machine or doing something else like painting it too. Great job getting the paint off. Stripping paint is one of my least favorite chores. It's always a mess and never fun but the results were worth it. Those full on MOP Singers are closer to art or jewelry than they are a tool to sew things together.

You are a tease, Mr. SteveH! The rectangle cutout did not leave room for imagination to expand far enough to think a "violin base". This is one of my all-time favorite posts. Never saw a belt cover and it is decorated even. Those all original decals or some of your own? Beautiful.

Oh My God Elma is the most beautifully exquisite gorgeous breath taking machine I have ever laid eyes on. The strip-tease was well worth the wait...LOL
