oh com on... She's worth the wait I promise.
Ok fine, how about part of the machine, I took these off to clean under them. I have done nothing except clean the beveled edges of old oil.
no flash, sepia tone shot of one side for a more romantic view...

If that stuff you used is that easy to strip with, I gotta get me some. I have a hand made solid oak dresser that came to me with at least five previous paint jobs. I will look for the gentle version you talked about. Guess what I will be doing next summer? Thank you for the inspiration.

I've used KleenStrip before. I figure the base must have still had a good finish on it before they painted, as I've found that does make getting the paint off easier.
I was working on one cabinet (not a sewing one though) that should have been very nice underneath - but after getting through the paint, discovered someone had tried "stripping" it with a power sander. So unfortunately, another paint job was the best option.
BTW - I got a sneak peak at this machine already!

He didn't say it was easy. Did you see the part about it taking two OCD people 7 hours?
Beautiful job, Steve!
Edit: I was responding to the "if it's that easy" post, not to Macybaby.

I did not mean to imply it would be easy, just that it would take the paint off without a heat gun. I have been dragging the dresser around for almost twenty years with the intent to see what is under all the paint, (pink, green, yellow, orange, and flat white over the orange gloss...(Ick)

Got the wood done!!
Underside of deck
topside
here is the other product. It takes a little longer but it is WAY nicer to work with. Brush it on thick, wait 20 minutes, scrape most off, brush on heavy again, scrub with 0000 steel wool, wipe clean. oil and wax.
