So I'm not the only old hen in the coop? LOL (Also had one of the first big clubby microwaves when they came out.)

I love my crockpot. I had the old kind that did not have the removable crock and liked it better than the newer ones now. Since it was not a removable crock the heat was around the whole thing and not just the bottom - it cooked better in my opinion. But, it eventually cracked and had to be discarded for the newer ones. My favorite meal that it cooked so well was 2 cornish hens and 2 baking potatoes wrapped in foil. Come home from work, make a salad and serve dinner.

I ended up making the cranberry bbq chicken today. So tender and will make it again. I like the idea of baked potatoes.

I use my crock pot all the time. I have been ill a lot lately & my DH has taken over most of the cooking (bless his heart) & is in love with the crock pot. He has never cooked the first 42 years, but is becoming a really good cook now. All I have to do is guide him on how to & he goes for it. We make almost anything in it.

I know it is good. Yeah, I am going to stick with a small jar. But I can't have this stuff too long or I will eat it on everything!

("Musgo" soup is what you make from the stuff in your fridge that is still good but not enough for another meal, or leftover veggies and you look at the container and say, "This musgo!) There are tons of good recipes for crock pot meals on the internet.
I have seen some pinterest posts about baking break in the crockpot...they said it turns out fine but just not crusty or golden color the way it does in the oven. I may play around with that next...

I made this today in a large pot on top of the stove. It is delicious and so easy to make. Shredded the chicken a bit and then placed some on small buns. YUM

I was surprised at how tender the chicken came out. Will do again for sure.

I made crockpot bread yesterday. It took longer than the recipes...there's quite a few of them but it tastes so much better than store bought sliced bread. It is the kind of bread you want to break a piece off of and just eat. I just don't enjoy doing that with storebought sliced bread.

I didn't let the dough rise separate from the crockpot cooking, so I might try a different technique next time.
