When I (rarely) talk about it at work, people tell me it's a hobby for boring old ladies. Even with hints of what goes on at our annual retreat - which is definitely not for boring old ladies - eyes start to glaze over.

As far as DH... The ONLY thing he has ever said (after more than 10 years) was when I finished Bonnie Hunter's Carolina Christmas. He said, "That's a lot of sewing." Has never commented on colors, nice gift for friends/baby/whatever, nothing. :\

I totally agree, i just told someone the other day sewers stick together and understand each other. I hope you had a wonderful day sewing!!!!

I understand! There is this frustration that "life" has to get in the way of what you really want to do--sew!

That's why I'm so excited to finally find this very, very active website! (I'm not sure why I didn't find it before.)

My hubby is often taken a consulting role in my quilting/crafting.... New to town and dont know another soul ( other than here) to talk to about quilting & etc

I'm sewing Saturday and this time it will be something for myself. The last three weeks I've been sewing samples for the store. I just turned them in tonight and found out I don't need to work Saturday.

Well I guess I'm lucky. My sewing room is also my office and I also have a tv and a daybed in here. Now all I need now is a bathroom and a microwave in here and I would be set.

I understand completely. I am in the middle of 4 days off from work in a row!!!! The first day I did an hour of cleaning, then an hour (ok an hour or two) of sewing, then another hour of cleaning, etc....Then the second day, I did some laundry and then sewing, you get the picture. Now on my third day I am going grocery shopping then the rest of the day will be sewing....
