I have the same problems with our furry girls. They are always after the thread and pins. I keep my pins and threads in a drawer next to my machine and it was a pain when I needed pins at the cutting table. I went out and bought one of those unfinished little wooden boxes that look like a tiny treasure chest in the craft department. I made a little pin cushion and stuck it inside. Now when I'm not using the pins I just snap the lid shut, it even has a little latch When I'm not in my sewing room I make sure they are not either and keep the door shut.

My fluffball pulls the pins out of my pin cushion and spits them onto the floor.

My brats are in cahoots together. My cat knocks the stuff off the table onto the floor, then the dog plays with it until she looses it under something - usually the sofa.

I keep a basket next to my computer with pens and pencils. Needed an eraser tonight and found some little fur baby had chewed most of them off. Found them in halves under the computer so they did not swallow them. Is nothing sacred?

We have a sheltie that swallowed a needle and thread (about 18" long). We were lucky--the needle was a cheap one and disintegrated in her stomach. However, it took 4 days of x-rays to determine that. About $400! She is fine and is now almost 12 years old.

Now we have a cat that loves pins. I have to be vigilant and hide them when I am not using them. The things we do...

Hope you find all of your missing items, especially the needles, curious pets can carry off all sorts of dangerous items and never know they are in danger

Animals are a hoot! My dog is a red dobe ( med size) & she is 6 1/2 years old. She still will grab things & take off with them. She doesn't hide them but she will go right to her dish & put them on top of her food in the dish. I always know where to find things! LOL

I know what you mean about this. I do it too:)
