Compared to a lot of other quilters stash, mine if fairly young. I have only been accumulating stash for a couple years. Some pieces that came from my aunt might be older but not by much. I hope to be able to leave a nice collection to my grands someday.

Fabrics in my stash go back to the 80's. I have patterns for dresses that were the ones my Mother made for me in the 50's.
Just recently I found out I had bits and pieces of my Grandma's bias tapes and trims. she died in 1970.
If it doesn't fall apart when you wash it or sew with it, it should never be too old. :)

I am making dresses for my granddaughter from patterns that my mother used to make dresses for me in the early 60's. What goes around, comes back around again.

Although I'm fairly new to quilting (about 4 years) I have some material that was my grandmother's, some from my mom, and some I just got in the mail yesterday. I'm 76 so you can figure just how old some of my stash is !!!

I just found some old pieces of yardage that were 24 inches selvedge to selvedge and some that were 36 inches. Pretty old, I'd say, but I don't remember when or where I bought them. Probably got them for high school or maybe grade school home ec. which would have been in the early 1950's. Probably bought them at LS Ayres in Indianapolis.

mine dates back to my childhood, when mom would give me bits and pieces of fabric from her projects. i have some that dates back to my grandmother's day--victorian stuff. and i have fabric from when i was first married, as well, and when i was in nursing school--that was 45 years ago. i love being able to put something really old into a square, just for old time's sake (and to see if anyone will notice...)
