Need your opinion. Will this work?

Wishing the best for your family. I understand your question. Of course your focus is on the baby's health status, but you are thinking of the future when the baby is home. Your quilt was made with love and it will be loved. Some daddy's have specific "feelings" about colors, etc., for their boys, more so than for their girls. I agree with the others to let this male baby have this quilt from his great grandmother and then make another for later. With your expressions, I think you would feel better to go ahead and plan the new "toddler" quilt. I join others in sending prayers for your family.

My heart goes out to your family. We have premies in ours and the outlook is good especially when they are over 2 pounds.
My 17 year old son loves the colour purple. Do not worry about the colour of the quilt, it was made with love for this baby.

Prayers and hugs to everyone in this difficult time. I would give it to your new great grandson. I have a few boys and they like purple and the green really makes it a boy or girl. I bought one grandson a purple shirt and it is his favorite

Congrats on the new great grandson! Hope his mom is doing well too.... Looks like he will be a tall fella, with those long hands and feet!
The subject matter of the quilt is certainly unisex (dots and frogs) and it's a cute little quilt, but I would hesitate to give all that purple to a little boy. If it were me I would make another quilt and save this one for a girl. Maybe I'm just old fashioned but I like to use primary colors for boys (red, yellow, blue...).
