I have put them on by hand after the quilt is quilted but like it better having the lady that quilts it to put it on and quilt over it so it "stays put".

HI, please, what did you finally decide to do with the carpenter's quilt? I loved it.

I usually sew mine on after done. I like to personalize them with a Bible verse along with the name of the quilt, my name and the date. I like the folded triangle in the corner.

Yep - I put them on at the end. Usually I create and print the label onto printer fabric and then hand sew it onto the bottom right corner.

I always sew on my labels after the quilt is finished, incl binding.
I usually make 2 labels 1. quilt name and recipient's name 2. my name, date, where it was made

I sew them on after the quilting but before the binding.

I have just started quilting but I use Quilt Label Fabric Sheets with fusible backing. I print out my label fuse it to the backing of my border and then stich around the label before I attach the border backing to my quilt top but then again I have only made quilt as you go quilts, I'm not sure how this would work with the traditional method of quilting a quilt. Also this way the label cannot be removed without damaging the quilt.
