I also like the second one better it is balanced and pleasing to the eye. Your eye doesn't jump around looking for a focal point.

Wow, what a coincidence. I was just searching the internet for information on the Hidden Wells quilt. Where it was mentioned, the internet instructions did say to use an odd number of fabrics and 5 or 7 seemed to be the most favored numbers.

With that said, I vote for #2 above. However, it is your quilt and you should go with the one that is most pleasing to your eye. I will have to explore the program you are using. Much cheaper to scan the fabric and test the pattern with actual fabric before making the quilt and deciding that you don't like it at all. Good luck. Please share the actual quilt with us when it is made.

I have been wanting to try one of these...Thanks so much for the pictures and the different variations. I really love your colors; my favorite pick would be #2!

I like the second one best. Just seems to need something to add a bit of sparkle or pop ... but I still love it.

I really like your second placement of fabric much better. It is more pleasing to the eye IMHO :-) I wouldn't changed or add anything.

You got it. I had thought you need to lose the bright pink but this last arrangement makes them work together, Good job.

I think you need to add another dark strip right between the pink and that light batik. It needs to be a narrow strip. I do like this one better.
I agree, & I like the 2nd the best.

After squinting at the 2nd one, I think you need a very light color for the center of the blocks that are light. One that is as light as the black centers are dark. I am learning that the more contrast, the better the design shows. What program are you using to design these blocks?
