I don't, but quilting is my "job". Weekends are for me and my family. Weather allowing, Sunday afternoons are my time for being outside, messing with flowers, gardening. Some might consider gardening "work" - not to be done on Sundays. But I consider it playing close to God and all His beauty.

Today I planned out a new block for the next quilt, worked on a new project our company will be bidding, fussed over my son when he came back from a weekend program at his college, started planning the transition to get him to England, planned menus and shopped for the week's food ...it was another good day. Every day is a day to learn something, help someone, and do something to make the world a little more beautiful.

For years my mother would said No sewing on Sunday. She also quoted her mother who would say "Sew on Sunday and take it out with your nose on Monday." I was young and believe my mother. It took years before I realized how silly NOT to sew on Sunday. It is my relaxation. I attend my Sunday meetings and still find time to relax. It was interesting to see so many others were told this silly superstition.
