I have a plastic canvas chatelaine that my Mom made for me that holds my goose-neck scissors. It's special because she made it AND because it keeps the fine points from poking me. I 'usually' remember to put them back inside. LOL

You have me curious .... you haven't told us yet .... do you wear one? or not?

Perhaps you have ideas of going into production on one, and wondered if it would be saleable? or?

I was given a scissor lanyard made by "Kai Scissors" and it's wonderful. Has a rubber sleeve that you put the scissors into and it fits every small pair of scissors I have and holds them securely. Very lightweight too - after a while I forget I have them on. I'm always misplacing my scissors when I'm sewing so this keeps me happy.

I bought one of those little plastic Handiquilt contraptions that you pin on your shirt. It has a recoiling elastic to which you fasten your little scissor for snipping threads. Pull on the scissor, bring it to the thread, snip, snip and it goes back to the holder. The demonstrator made it look very practical, so I bought it.
Well, if you let go of the scissor after snipping, the scissor flips back to the holder...very quickly, and rather dangerously. I'm sure in time the elastic eases up and there's no more fighting to pull the scissor to the snipping area, and by then you'll have learned to hold onto the scissor as you bring it back to the holder.
My scissor holder sits on my sewing table, and I'm out $5.

No way, I get a lot more exercise looking for it, and at my age I need it! Truly I had a holder and didn`t like it.

The only thing I wear around my neck is a tape measure and then only when I am altering something. I have a small sewing area that I can reach from one swivel chair. I keep one pair on the cutting area and another on the right hand side of my sewing machine. I have found that when I had them hung around my neck it was just inconvenient. I suppose ladies who have LA, would need to.

I made a "sewing vest" from a UFO. It has two regular pockets, one for glasses, one for ipod, an Ultrasuede holder for the scissors, three elastic holders for spools of thread, a small pocket for needles, a round pocket with elastic for thimble and a velcro spot to attach a small pincushion. Washable, made with tulle backing so lightweight enough for summer wear. When made of matching fabric and clear elastic it is well camouflaged!

I always wear a scissor around my neck when I am embroidering. It is the kind that you can close and pull apart when needed. Love it.
