I made my own many years ago.. Loved it -- but now I do my hand quilting on a hoop so I can get comfy on the couch.

That is a clever design. I have one that my daughter and I made similiar, but it uses nails to hold the cross pieces in place.

I have one just like that, I purchased it from a little quilt shop in Sheridan, Montana about 22 years ago. I think the husband of the lady who owned the shop made them.

I have one similar without the notches in it and use it all the time.

My dad made one kind of like this for my Mom and me years ago. He stapled heavy duty muslin to the boards and we just used safety pins to attach the quilt and rolled it up.

That looks so much easier to use than the ones you clamp at the corners. What a great treasure from your family's past.

I just thought since everyone is showing their vintage machines, you'd be interested in seeing my quilt frame.

I added the cross pieces because those have been lost. They are just 2 x 2 inch pieces of wood.

I was wondering if anyone else has ever seen one like this?
Mine is exactly like yours, but the gal (who was 80 when she made it for me) put canvas on the poles to attach the quilt sandwich to. She made me one as I admired the one her husband made for her 40 some odd years ago. I hope I'm that awesome when I'm 80!
