Sweetie I haven't read your post until just now. I'm sorry that I missed you before you retired for the night. So here is a Belated Happy Birthday to a very specil, caring woman. Another quilting Sister. I love this Board & the Members are very caring. So consider yourself a Cyber Sister of mine as well as a friend.

Most of my birthdays were forgotten I think because Christmas and my "day" were so close. Sure it hurt when family forgot but one hurt is sort of deep. I have a son and most relatives have passed. My husband passed in 2001 he had MS. His mother hinted around that I was really no longer family and so gifts for birthdays and Christmas were out. After a long marriage and years of caring for my beloved I am told that. So, today I still give her respect but I think I am distancing myself from her now. I don't think I really know how to feel.
I am so sorry your special day was missed. You are a special person and we will all celebrate YOU this day and I know you will feel the love from all us quilters, with hugs around you. I know for sure of one special person who has celebrated your birth every day of every year; Yep that was the one who created you. YOU ARE SPECIAL. Hugs/kisses/good thoughts to you. Happy Birthday

Yes, that is awful that they forgot YOUR birthday!!! Shame on all of them! Even though we get older doesn't mean our feelings don't still get hurt. I am sure anyone in your family would be hurt if you forgot their birthday! Enjoy your cake!! Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you!!!

Oh my gosh Connie . . . I cannot believe your mother-in-law would say that to you, who loved and took care of her son. My thought is that she has problems and she is/was unhappy. I don't see that it has to do with YOU, personally. You sound like a very caring, wonderful person, and I like you! Distance yourself from her - good idea - life is too short for people who don't appreciate us. I have many hurts (family), too, always feel like I am the least important, nothing I do seems to interest anyone . . . guess we all have our hang-ups. Surround yourself with loving caring people and friends! We love you!
