What is this other DJ swap that you'll be doing? Do we make these blocks for ourselves??

in Jan 2010 there's going to be a "Dear Jane Quilt Along". everyone will be making their own Jane Quilt (no swapping of blocks) over 12-14 months.

it will be motivation, support, encouragement, and tips. many people start a jane but never seem to finish - i know someone who's been making a jane for over 5 years now.

so i thought success would occur in numbers and if we all work together, on a timeline, we'll reach the goal.

i know some people joined this swap to get some jane practice in before the quilt along but i don't think anyone knew it would grow to this size.

most people run the other way when they hear Dear Jane.

Bettia
I will take H-4

thanks again for all of your time (time is the key word here) and hard work you are putting into this.

Klue - I think you are so right...If we all work on it together we'll be able to keep each other going and it will be so much fun seeing all of the different variations.

I too thought we were going to be lucky to get 18 to partipate in the swap. I'm amazed that so many of us have jumped on board. I can't wait to see what everyone else has done.

here's a sample pic of all 64 blocks done in christmas colors. i changed the border because lets face it - we're not doing a triangle swap.

this quilt measures about 100 inches square - not to bad for 64 blocks and all you have to do is sashing and some borders.

i really like the outer border i think it suits Janes blocks nicely.
