I don't mind flying. I'm terrified of heights and when I was a kid I was terrified to fly, too, but a few long trips over oceans cleared that right up.
I used to travel frequently for work and if you pay attention and prepare, even security isn't really so bad.
Trains tick me off and I'm not too comfortable with cruise ships, but flying is no big deal anymore.

Flying doesn't scare me, but I do hate it. It used to be fun, but now they pack you in the planes like cattle. All the extra charges for bags and food, it gets very expensive. And all the hasstle at the airport with security.
I would much rather get in my convertible and drive where ever I am going.

I have been on many planes, and not just short flights either. My flights were usually 12 hrs or more. I have never had any problems with flying. They say that you are actually safer in a plane than in a car.

It took me years to get my husband to fly but once he took his first trip for business and it was a terrible trip, bad weather, but he loved how he got 500 miles away and back in one day in such little time. He was never a totally relaxed flyer, but he loved the time saved and he did not have to drive. I have not flown in 3 years because of the hassle at the airport. I hated it when you had to be an hour hearly now it is 2 hours and you have to jump thru all kinds of hoops. Do not get me wrong I understand the safety stuff, just hate time wasted hanging at the airport. Try a short trip first, you might like it. I will fly again, I am sure because there is still a lot of this country I have not seen. Take care.

I dislike flying because of the pressure in my ears. I've flown on one plane that seemed to have the pressure correct, but by the time the flight is overwith I have such a pain, I'm almost reduced to tears. So I really hate flying anywhere.

I was always afraid of flying but I got the opportunity to go on a cruise with my mother, brother and his wife. The cruise was in Europe and I knew it was a once in a lifetime opportunity. So my first plane trip was across the ocean, from Chicago to Copenhagen, Denmark. I was really nervous to begin with but once I was on the plane and the plane took off I was fine. The plane took off at night so I was able to see the lights of Chicago. It was wonderful.
