I've never shopped at a JoAnne's, don't know if there is one around here. We have Hobby Lobby, Hancock's Fabric, and (my personal favorite) WalMart. I have to drive fifty miles, one way, to all of these.
I was wondering, what's everyones thoughts on WalMart fabric?

The VIP fabrics at Wal-Mart are excellent. Some of their other fabrics are too loosely woven so beware of those. One local Wal-Mart on the Eastern shore of Mobile Bay still carries fabric, and the other does not.
I would highly recommend the Joann's in Pensacola and A&E Pharmacy in Pensacola. Well worth making the drive to visit these 2 shops. If you are not familiar with A&E, it is a very unique store. When you enter, you are in a pharmacy. On the right, they sell appliances. Go left and you are in a craft area. Back of crafts there is a huge - and I do mean huge - fabric store for quilters. They carry no decorator fabrics - just quilt fabric. Sales assoc. are very helpful. Also sell tools for quilters - rulers, threads, etc. You will feel like you have died and gone to heaven!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Here's a link to "Knots of Love", an organization which provides chemo-caps to cancer patients.
http://www.knots-of-love.org/
If you scroll to the bottom of their Home page, under Resources click on Patterns. You'll find several knitting/crocheting patterns there. Good luck.

I've not ever heard of A&E, but it sounds great. Last summer we went to Orange Beach, and I took my Daughter to the Pensacola Naval Museum and Light House on the Base. If I had known there was somewhere like that to find fabric, I would have been there.
Thanks, maybe I'll get there this year.
