I started sewing when I was 8 years old, my grandma gave me a treadle machine for my birthday. About 75% of my projects are quilts, but I also make clothes for myself, some home dec projects and I've made baseball jerseys and halloween costumes for my grandsons. I made my wedding dress, 32 years ago. It was a challenge, I'll never make another so it's a good thing I have a good DH!

I have sewn off and on for years. Mostly made clothes, for me kids and the kids dolls. Also have made simple curtains for my home. Just started quilting.

I have sewed about everything. When I purchased my first sewing machine I made nearly all my clothes. Made my wedding dress, sewed clothes, shirts for my son and cute outfits for my daughter. I also did sewing for a friend of mine and her daughters. I shortend many coats for friends when the style of coats went from looooong to short. I guess I did about everything, but now it is mostly quilts, wall hangings, table runners, bags, etc. I try to find a way to use up all my fabrics in one form or another. I am open for ideas.

Used to sew clothes for our daughter and 2 of our 3 sons before it got less expensive to buy their clothes. Made slacks, shorts, blouses, dresses, and formals for me, and slacks, shirts, pants, shorts, and even several sports jackets for hubby. Have made Barbie doll clothes - NEVER again, and halloween costumes (cheerleader, batman, superman). Done re-upholstery, curtains, pillows, etc. for the home. During the last several years, I have made a few outfits for two of our granddaughters, and dresses for my lawn goose, but most of my time at my sewing machine has been for quilting.

We used to spend summers at the lake. I made school clothes for our 3 kids and me with whatever fabric was at the lake. I was often teased by our neighbo about my mismatched outfits because I was an underpaid school teacher who couldn't afford to buy enough "material" for the whole outfit. I wonder what I could have done to make it a fad as it is today? I was just before my time.
