My dog stinks! what do you use on yours??

does he only smell in the summer months and not winter? i had a neighbor dog who had some sort of skin problem that did that. nothing their Vet could do, supposedly. poor doggie. i wouldn't go over to pet him when he was smelly but hopefully made up for it when he wasn't.
