Love my Janome machines and also love my Bernina machines.
I have the 4 thread Janome machine and like it, but have not used it for a while. It is great for t-shirts, sweatshirts, and bags that you don't want to take apart to embroidery. I love to sew and embroidery and do each of them every day.

I've been considering buying a janome, but since we don't have an authorized dealer in our area, I'm afraid I won't find someone to service it. Anyone have a problem with getting one serviced?

I have a 14 year old New Home, which I have been told is the same machine, that the name changed after I bought mine. I love it and have never had a problem with it. The book says it never has to be oiled or serviced. I keep it clean and it sews beautiful. I'm thinking about buying another machine for a second one and it will probably be a Janome.

Love my Jenome gem720 for taking to class. The only problem that I have had is that it will sometimes sew with out me engaging the foot feed. Also happens with the start/stop button. It will not do it when I take it in for repair. Makes the repairman think I'm nuts. If only I could get it to do my piecing while I am sleeping! :-D :-(
