How would you applique these??

I just completed a applique class and the instructor taught us to use nylon thread and a very tiny zig zag stitch. Her applique is outstanding. I guess it just depends on the look you are after. Your blocks are very cute and I am sure whatever color you use the quilt will be loved.

I am fixing to machine applique around all of these, and just wondered how you all would do it? I usually will change thread color, and match each color to each individual piece, or contrast depending on the look I want. If you fused them, experiment with other stitches, like
a triple straight stitch.

Well, I went with using matching or close to it thread for each piece of the applique parts...I have sashed it with the plaid, NOT on the bias...and actually it looks straight to me...I actually cut all the sashing strips the same width by using the same color of line on each one, and when I attached it, I used one of the colored lines as the guide, and it was very close to 1/4" at that! I have it all sashed, and border on using the plaid, will post an updated pic on new topic, as this one is so long...now trying to decide if I want another border around, or leave well enough alone!!...
