I use a three ring notebook with plastic sleeves for the ones I have copied on 8x101/2 I use tabs to mark what they are forie wall hanging children's patterns etc.And for the ones that I buy at the quilt shop I bought a pattern box at JoAnn's and store mine in that type of box. That way you can lable them on the outside of the box

I store mine in pattern boxes. The ones I used to have for clothing patterns. I them label the outside like: embroidery/stitchery or Christmas or wall hangings, etc. Then I put the boxes on my bookcase so it is easy to see them.

You are all so neat and tidy. All of mine are stacked up all around the house so this is an interesting topic for me.

Are you talking about the patterns you purchase or patterns from magazines? I purchased couple of the plastic extending pocket file folders..they usually have 10-12 pockets so I separate by type of pattern....wall quilting, bed size, purse/totes, baby quilts, etc. Any pattern that I like from the many, many quilt magazines, I tear them out of the magazines & scan them into my computer & organize in file folders by type.....pieced, applique, tote, etc. I just don't have the room to keep all the mags that I buy and this has been a great way for me to keep the ones I really like & am able to easily find them in my computer. :-D

the patterns I buy, I put in pattern boxes and label the ends. I keep my magazines in wicker baskets and also some are stored in the magazine holders that you put on a bookshelf. The ones I print off the internet are not very organized, just put into manila folders.

I store all the printed patterns in 3ring folders and the store bought ones in a plastic container. I do not have many of the bought ones only what friends have given me.

I store my patterns in plastic sleeves and then by category in a 2 drawer file cabinet. Each category has its own hanging file folder (ie. one for table runners, one for wall hangings and so on...)
