MY DD passed last year and I was going to ask my DM for some of dads shirts to make her a quilt out of so she could cuddle up with it to give her some comfort. Now im going to make the quilt and hopefully we can use it in that way, not too soon I hope. It would give me alot of comfort knowing my DD shirts were wrapped around my DM. Great idea.

I think that is a lovely story. Obviously your gift gave her so much comfort in life that her daughters throught it would comfort her for eternity.

anyway - kind of off subject, but to see this post after coming across those scraps... just had to respond.

sewTinker, I think that was a good idea, I think I will do that for me, that will also put my kids over the edge, they don't like to talk about stuff like that.

Never saw anything like that. But my sister is terminal from breast cancer and she asked me to make her a quilt and matching pillow for her coffin. Have to say I thought she was being morbid. But as it went along I found myself being comforted by the idea she would have my quilt wrapped around her.

I think it is beautiful and I showed my husband and tasked him with selecting something like that for my casket!!! After losing our child he knows he better take me seriously when I talk about something like this! Why not a beautiful quilted interior or even a quilt draped over the casket. It would be a beautiful representation of our lives!

Well ladies the "Death Quilt" is another think for you to ask your DH's to put on your wish list for when you die. The Wedding Ring quilt is very soothing and looks at home lining the coffin...
