Oh, nice choice Lum. I would have to do some cutting to make it but.....I have enough "quilty" projects on my plate at the moment. Two biggies that have due dates and no 2.5 squares. Drat! One is an all flying geese for my son that I had about 2/3 done when I discovered that I did not like the print fabrics. Back to step one but with solids. The second project is to finish a quilt that was started more than 20 years ago. Not by me, but my sister-in-law. All hand pieced! Her youngest son is getting married and I am determined to finish it for he and his bride. I will not be hand finishing it. That is WAY too much hand work for my hands and I would miss the wedding date I am sure.

Enjoy our summer heat, folks. I keep reminding myself that this is the balance to last winter's polar vortex. You will find me in my sewing room working on some project or another.

I love that one! I do like scrappy quilts, but scrappy in a single color scheme are beautiful and easier to do. I'm making crumb blocks right now in a single color, but many fabrics.

Yesterday I re-homed about 20 quilts - feels real good to have my closet emptied out, and my pile of unquilted tops way down!

It was at the family reunion. I'm working on having a quilt for every family member and I've got a lot of them with more on the way. I'm up to about 60 quilts given and I think there are around 80 - 90 people. This is just my siblings, their spouses, nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews. I already did DH's side, but at this point that was only one person!

I'm not keeping track of who has gotten what, and I know a few poeple have taken more than one. The biggest "offender" is a niece-in-law, she's got about five of them so far. She's from Cambodia, and just loves the quilts. Last year she took one and curled up with it on the couch and took a nap. Her husband says she is always curled up with one of the quilts. A person that develops such a strong bond to her quilts deserves to have several!

I was hesitant to give up my first embroidery block quilt, it is a double irish chain with embroidered flowers in the open areas. A younger sister kept looking at it and carrying it around, but she was hesitant to claim it for herself in case someone else wanted it. She's a very self-sacrificing individual, and I finally told her to go put it in her car. I'm very glad that quilt went to someone that felt strongly about it.
