I just got a new Kindle and am trying to find free books to download. Can anyone help me figure out how to do this? I think I will love it, but after being used to free books at the library I hate to pay. Thanks.

Go to amazon, search Kindle Store for free books.

That is how I have done it, but I am not reading much with the two kiddos right now, so I haven't gone through the free books yet, LOL!

Every time I do that I get a list of books to buy that tell me where the free book websites are. I must not be searching correctly.

You can also find an author, get a list of their books, and then sort by price: low to high. Any books they have availble for free will be at the top of the list.

Publishers rotate their free books, and so you might get different free ones depending when you search in the month.

The nice thing about amazon is that once you set it up, you can do a one-click puchase that will load the book onto your device {I use the kindle program on my iPhone} the next time you open the device and it has wifi. Makes buying freebies easy and quick. Remember they are digital and you can delete them just as easily if you don't like them in the first 5 to 10 pages.

I googled "free ebooks" and it gave me a list of networks to go to. They also send you updates thru emails to keep you updated. If you wish to discontinue these updates just click on "unsubscribe" at the bottom of email.

I have found that I can search easier logged in to Amazon and sending the books to my Kindle. If you go here ...

http://www.amazon.com/b/ref=amb_link...d_i=1286228011

You can get to free book collections. I read in the Wall Street Journal that there will be an update to Kindle software by the end of the year that allows e-books to be borrowed from the library! Yippee!

My library that I download audiobooks from also has E-books. Search E-books as some places also call them ebook. I thought about a kindle but since I discovered free audio books I sure get a lot more done. I am one of those that will NOT put a book down till it is finished. Too bad I am not like this with sewing lol
