I like your colors also. The brighter fabrics that are generally used are nice but no one has to only use the jewel tones. It would look great in country browns and green and reds also. A good pattern is versatile and you've proved it. I like the way some of the magazines show their pattern in a alternate color. Quite often I find I'm drawn to the alternate more than the featured one. Great quilt, nasty teacher.

I think it's a great quilt. I think it's very sad when someone, especially a teacher make a crushing comment that keeps us from valuing our own judgment. My youngest brother was a budding artist, drawing perfect renditions of Disney characters, the teacher accused him of tracing the drawings and he never drew again. What a waste of a budding talent. I always envied his ability to drawn. In the future, if someone offers a comment like that, tell them thank you very much for your opinion, but I like the colors I have chosen, and hey, your son might just love the quilt the way it is.

I think it looks great. I had a teacher tell me the colors I had picked out for a Lone Star wouldn't work, but I stuck with it. Was she ever surprised when it was done, and said so!
