I like Affairs of the Heart. Different than what I usually do. But then I haven't finished my Jane yet!

Oh gosh...I haven't either Sharon...we were talking about having the group of us work on another quilt together some time next year since we've had such fun doing this one. Its nice to have friends working on the same thing and supporting each other...No way could I add something else to my plate for a while yet....we are just thinking out loud.

Sounds good then. I just don't want to start anything new too soon. But, I can look, and get the book, and gather fabric, and....

Have you found a source for the pattern only, would I get it if I bought the book. I am being very sorely tempted this is the first quilt that has really appealed to be since DJ.
I ordered mine from Amazon.Com. Isn't it beautiful? The blocks will seem huge after our Janes. They are 7" square!!!!

I'm going to go ahead (since I've been so lazy) and post through weeks 50. That will get the schedule through the end of the year for those working ahead. For those working to the schedule, they will be there for reference...NO pressure!!!
That is a lovely quilt, I can't appliqué by hand but I can make some of the blocks with machine appliqué so if that is the group choice I'm in! :D
I'm planning on machine appliquig the whole thing! The Borders are reverse applique, but I'm going to use bias to do them. I will still be hand-quilting Jane's Journey.

What is your quilting plan??? Are you doing a SID in the sashing or something else? Inquiring minds want to know...
I quilted down the center of the sashings as there is less of a chance of multiple layers there. I pressed the seam allowances toward the sashings, but trimmed them to slightly less than 1/4" Each block has some quilting in it - I am looking at the book for guidance, but some of hers are really heavily quilted (had to to keep cotton from lumping together.) I don't think I've got it in me to do that much. Just a token line or 2 or 3 or 4...

the way you are doing the sashing makes good sense, going to do that as well

Heh , count me in, I love this quilt too and its a lot of work, truly an Heirloom by the time its finished and its only got 36 blocks LOL that is going to seem like heaven for us all. I know there is a lotof work, but I did read somewhere that the designer could do a block a night. If I can do one a week I will be more than happy. Count me in for this one, started collecting my batiks. Ooooh lovely lovely lovely I am excited already to be doing this with you all.

I think this one is very pretty, but I don't really want to do another sampler quilt. It's odd, because I am also drawn to Baltimore quilts, and all of their blocks are different, so I can't quite put my finger on it.

Do you suppose it's the black background? I don't think this is nearly as detailed as a Baltimore quilt.

Good afternoon! It's before 6 am here!
