Ok sounds like fun and I hope if you fall you let us see pictures of the fabric.
Oh Elly thanks. I have pinking shears and hardly ever use them, never gave that a thought. Will from now on.

And thanks everyone else with the suggestions. No I don't have a serger, but that sounds like a good idea too. And I did check out the video, interesting thought.

And so you all know, I fell, not hard but hard enough. I am working on another stripe pattern and needed striped material. I don't keep it because I don't like to work with stripes as you all know. So off to the discount place and got several pieces of different type striped stuff. But I'm comfortably back on the wagon again.

In March I fell of the wagon with a big bang. I am actually claiming my DH's birthday exemption! Anyway, since I had such a big fall I thought I would share what I have done with the fabric. I did buy a little more of each color as I didn't want to be short when I cut out the fabric, so I did add some to my stash. I need to get the backing before I can go any further. The pattern is "Thinking Outside the Box" by Toad You Sew. Fun pattern to do. It was fun to see the pattern come to life.

I'm going great guns with self-control . I think I've only bought 6 yards thus far this year, and 4 of it was for a specific chemo quilt. I have used or given away probably 8 yards, so I feel good. It has really helped me to think before I just go out and buy . And I kind of like the challenge of shopping my stash and using what I have . I turn it into a game to see what I can make without spending a dime.

Way to Go Zozee. I so agree. This thread has been a blessing. So easy to see something you just love the looks of and say I love it, I'll get it and figure out what to do with it later. I have done soooo much better this year thanks to this thread and the people here.

Sofie - fabulous quilt. I really like the optical illusion.

I fell off the wagon today but for a good cause. I was given the Triangle Frenzy Swirl pattern as a late Easter present. It uses wide striped fabric, and I had absolutely none in my stash. Nary an inch. So with Joann's 50% coupon in hand I purchased two pieces that I hope will be OK for this pattern. The good cause? The friend who gave me the pattern said she'd love to see what I made with it. So it's important I make it up and share a pic with her. That's my story and I'm sticking with it! At any rate, this really is my first fall from grace this year and I only purchased two yards total.
