Sewnclog..This is hilarious! Last weekend we were at the cabin and DH, two sons and 14 yo grandson were out hunting. When they came back in for lunch, my GS asked me if I had a shoe lace. I wondered why, because he was wearing hunting/bog boots that pull on. Turns out he was wearing his jeans "saggy butt" and they kept falling down! Found him a piece of clothesline to hitch his pants up!

I have a black and white top that came with a 4" piece at the bottom of sheer black fabric. I thought I would use that idea to lengthen a couple tops I have. Just haven't gotten around to it. It is attached about a half inch under the hem, and has a very small hem on it.

I must live in a cave. I haven't seen this style.
I would guess that they are made out of poplin or some other basic shirting fabric. Somewhere like JoAnn's would probably carry something you could use.

When I buy a shirt that is too short, I watch for the same shirt to go on clearance, and buy it in another color. Then I cut the bottom four to six inches off and using the original hem line on the upper shirt as a guide, sew them together. I also do the same to the usually too short sleeves, but I have bought a mans T-shirt at goodwill and done the same thing. The best advice I can give you is use lots and lots of pins.

I found some white lace and also chiffon to use on my blouse. Wal-mart had these but i found them myself. the clerk didn't know what chiffon was. anyway, i decided on the lace. it's done..i think this lace is called ribbon lace.
