I think I have about 50 more units to complete, and then I will probably do clue 2, or a new clue, but *a* clue using corals and neutrals as they are already out and taking up space on my cutting table.
I'm slow, too. This is the first of the 3 BH mystery quilts where I haven't kept up with the clues. I was fine with Clue #1, but I haven't finished #2 or #3, much less start #4. But I'm all right with that. I have been working on a quilt to give to a friend for Christmas. It's finally done, so I can concentrate on On Ringo Lake.

Those colors are gorgeous Kristi.

I went back and forth on buying the folded corners ruler and decided against it since I seldom do projects that would require it...but, it sure would have been helpful for clue 3...

I thought long and hard about the folded corner ruler since I love rulers! But I try hard to avoid that method of piecing when possible, and don't have any problem getting the blocks to turn out the way they should using alternate methods. I also found that with the plastic guide sheet on my machine, I don't need to draw lines even if I am doing something that normally you'd draw lines on as sewing guides. As long as I can line up a corner with a line on the sheet, I'm good to go. I do that more when making pairs of HST.

So it didn't seem a good idea for me to buy it. I already have some specialty rulers that I've found I'd rather use a regular ruler and line up marks to get the same results.

Macybaby, Do you have a special plastic sheet that adheres to the sewing bed of your machine? A friend in our small guild has something that she puts on hers but I have not seen it up close to see what exactly it is. Who makes the one you use?

My part 4 units didn't even need a trim. I love that

I can't wait for tomorrow's clue 5!

Oh, pretty block, NZ... And I love your blue 30's repros!

I also watched the video of Doug Leko showing how to use the folded corners ruler... That nixed the idea of buying it, for me. He is still cutting off triangles! I can do so much better and more efficient with my Easy Angle ruler. I'm happy with what I have.

New clue tomorrow... any guesses? I am clueless (pun intended! ). But I am feeling like there is only tomorrow and next week left in our mystery. Maybe one more, but she usually wraps it up by New Year's Day. So get ready!

NZquilter, that's such a pretty layout! I love your colors, too!

Kirsten, it's not hard to post photos; you do have to be able to reduce them somehow before posting. I use Fotor for Windows, which is a free download. Once your photo is reduced, you click on the 'Go Advanced' blue button just below the text window, choose a photo with the 'browse' function and then upload it. We'd love to see your units!
