found this recipe in the Christian Science Monitor (inherited a big stack from the library that I use for starting fires in the wood stove)
    Surprise Shortcut Blueberry Peach Cobbler

    6 slices white bread
4 fresh peaches, pitted, skinned, sliced
    1 cup blueberries
    1 cup sugar
    1/2 cup butter, melted
    2 T. flour
    1 egg

Butter an 8" square baking dish. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Cut crust from bread slices and cut each into 4 or 5 strips.
Spread fruit in pan, on top make a lattice design with the bread strips.
Beat together melted butter, sugar, flour and egg. Pour mixture over bread and fruit.
Bake 35 to 45 minutes until golden brown, serve with vanilla ice cream. Makes 6 to 8 servings.
(note - not if I am around)
