I Have wood look laminate flooring and I really like it. I don't know the brand but it came from Lowes.

I also have a wood look laminate and love it. It cleans so easy. I would suggest not getting too dark of a color or every thread will show. Mine is a oak look

I have noticed that some laminate floors are very noisy whereas others are not. Be sure to check out that aspect before purchasing a specific laminate. Not sure what causes the difference -- probably has at least something to do with the underlayment.

I may be moving to a house with sedillo tile throughout except for the master bedroom which has laminate wood flooring. I am wondering about having my piano on the tile and my treadle machines on the laminate. Anyone have any experience with these floors. Thanks.

i have medium oak laminate floors in the sewing room. I used inexpensive Tarkett and would not recommend that brand as the 'seams' do not all meet smoothly. The noise, as previously noted, probably is due to the underlayment. you might want to upgrade that as well. if i had it to do again, i'd spend the extra money for real wood floors, or at least engineered hardwood.

You will likely have a bad echoing problem with a piano on tile. It's not just that the piano is sitting on tile; the problem is that sound will bounce off the tiles. You may need to invest in a large area carpet to cut down on the amount of exposed tile to make the room acoustically acceptable.

We put in the mid-grade Pergo in the living room. Our ceilings are 12' at the peak. It does echo but a large area rug took care of most of the noise. The pieces do come with about a 16th" thick foam on bottom. Seams are good as long as you take your time installing. It's 2 yrs old and considering putting it in my sewing room.

I have a medium oak Prego laminate in our TV room, cleans like a dream and gives the room a very bright look. Haven't experienced any noisy sounds. Having this type of flooring in your sewing room should make it easy to pick up all those stray threads, etc. I use a swifter to clean the floors, quick and easy.

One thing to remember about laminate floors is that you can't let water or any liquids stand on them. May in Jersey

We just put some lovely flooring in our 3 front rooms of the house. Its beautiful. Its called TigerWood and we got it at Home Depot. The installers said it was the best flooring they had ever worked with. Usually there is at least one board in each box that is bad..They had 1 board out of all the boxes that was not usuable. They were very impressed and so am I. It doesn't have that laminate sound like some of them do. We put it on concrete..I hear that makes a difference. The name on the box is Legends ~ Diamond finish. Love Love Love it!
