Beautiful blocks, as usual, ladies. I really like how the fussy cut in the center of these blocks turned out. Here's my "Rising Star."

Doing some very nice fussy cutting yourself Irene, and I like the two tones around the centre star points.

    Hi Lara,

That is a perfectly respectable block. I think we tend to "obsess" when we know others are looking over our shoulders. "Obsessed" , where have I heard that name before???

    Hi DeeCee,

I love your block, especially that touch of rose in the middle.

    hugs, Jup

    Hi Irene,

Very nice! I like how your blanket stitches almost look like lacy edges.

    hugs, Jup

Here are my Rising Star photos.
    Notes for the 12" size:
After messing about with the glue and applique, I decided that on a large block it is just cleaner and easier to use the Quilt in a Day Flying /Geese rulers. For template A, use 1.5" X 3" ruler. For template B, use 3" X 6" ruler.
    #1 Gold corners cut 2". #2 Gold Corners cut 3.5". #3 Center cut 3.5".

My center square had 3 daisies on it, but I wanted more of a cluster there. I cut out 3 more daisies with Steam A Seam on the backsides. I ironed them onto the center square. I stabilized the square by putting a second layer of fabric behind it. Then, using Sulky Rayon 40 thread in white, pale blue, gold, and light yellow, I thread painted those 3 flowers, but not the original 3 flowers on the square. Its always hard to photograph thread painting like this. In the photo, all I can see are the needle holes. In real-life, those holes are minimal and the thread shines nicely. I like the effect.

    hugs, Jup

I almost didn't use that blue. I love the color, but this quilt is supposed to be green and brown. But there is a little bit of the blue in the paisley fabric, and the blue really made the star pop. Thanks!

    hugs, Jup
