Hi All,,, I've been off the computer for a week... al,most. My out of state cousins came for a week long visit, and I taught my cousin Bill (52 year old man, Air Force retired) how to make an applique portrait of his wife, Debbie! His first ever quilt, and it turned out very nice! I'll post a photo.
I'm still not back into PH blocks. I still have 5 to make.... but first I have to make 2 baby isolette quilts before Thursday, which is our Quilt Guild meeting and that is when we turn them in for the hospital's preemie baby cribs.
I love seeing what the new blocks are looking like.,.. beautiful!
hugs, Jupiter

Judith - I absolutely love each and every one of your blocks. They look like a tile mosaic. Beautiful work!
Jupiter - thank you for showing us what you are up to. I always love to see the portrait quilts. What an accomplishment for a first endeavor! You must be quite the teacher.
Here is my Birdsnest. I must confess to taking this block apart and redoing it. It has a case of the wonkies now - but oh goodness, you should have seen it before! Even DH commented on it. That is when I knew I wouldn't be able to let it be. I don't know why I was having so much trouble with piecing the nine-patches in this block. For me, the best part about finishing this block is that I now have only 2 more to go!

Lara your Bird's Nest doesn't look to have any wonkies to me - it looks great......and the end is in sight.
My DH has just come home from hospital (again). I hope things go a bit smoother this time. Consequently I have not done any more on my PH as working and hospital visiting has taken my time. I did make a push on my last day off and did my House BOM for September so now I can work on PH the next chance I get. Mind you, I have DD's baby shower in another week and I need to prepare for that.

[quote=Deecee].........and another great block Judith. Now please tell me that you stay at home and sew all day so I don't feel so unproductive.
Yes, I do stay at home and some days I am in and out of the sewing room. . . . some days I stay in there all day!
I am so pleased to hear of your DH being home again. Good thoughts and blessings to you both.
Lara, I love your bird's nest block. Your fabric choices just glow!
Bebe, do come and join us!
I have been under the weather the last few days and I am doing alot of sitting in my chair and being an observer. This afternoon we are going to the folks for a family meeting and I will see how I am when we return as to if I will be sewing any time soon! Love to you all!
